ok just a quick, and surely stupid, question. I'm new in the photoblogs world and don't know how to resize a photo, for example, the above one, so that it fits nicely on the screen. This one is way too big and makes it difficult to see. Yep, I've tried to obvious answer, resize the image in irfanview or photoshop, which I did, but it seems that I don't find the right size or that's not what I have to do. Anybody out there with the simple answer?

This site will resize your image to 800 pixels wide (for large) and 600 pixels (for small). If you want to make it smaller you have to do it before you upload (as you mentioned). I recommend for a portrait shot like this to resize the width to about 500-550 pixels wide. There may be some free batch tools that let you do this quickly on a bunch of images so you don't have to do each one individually but I think most people post process and resize all at once.
Very stong image, some of the shadows lose to much detail, might need some work in photoshop. Of course this is street photography so perfection of image is less important than immediacy of subject.
