@Zach Siebert: thanks to both you! it was totally candid, i was sitting next to him and he was absolutely absent, as many commuters are, immersed in his own thoughts, eating, drinking and looking into the void. this is an hour trip by train from london which he probably makes every single day. it fascinates how he, as many commuters, can be present while being completely absent and how the carriage, which was full of people, was completely silent.
